If I need therapy, do I need to see an Intravene physician?

No, you may ask your personal physician to contact Intravene directly to arrange your therapy. We have a staff of nurses and pharmacists who will prepare your medication and administer it here in our facility or arrange home therapy if appropriate. We work with your physician to plan your therapy.

What will I need to bring on my first visit?

You will need to bring your insurance cards and a list of the medicines you take. You may choose to fill out patient information and consent forms before your arrival and bring them with you. You may print them from our website.

How long will it take for my infusion therapy?

The length of time your therapy takes is determined by what medication you are getting. Most therapies take from 1-3 hours. We do our best to make your time here comfortable.

Do all medications have to be infused in the office?

No, Some medications are safe when given at home. You may come to the Intravene office for personal instruction. Some patients may be able to have a home health nurse help with therapy.

What if there is a problem or emergency?

If you have any questions or concerns, an Intravene nurse, pharmacist and physician are on call, 24 hours a day.

What kinds of medications are available through Intravene?

Intravene can provide solutions for antibiotics, nutritional support, and various biologic therapies for various conditions. New medications are constantly evaluated for infusion at home or in an office based setting.

Who pays for this therapy?

Most of our services are covered by most health insurance policies. Our reimbursement specialists will contact your health insurance provider to determine your benefits. They will contact you if necessary to discuss your benefits.
